ABIDING IN CHRIST: THE RESULTS

In the first and previous part of this series, I explained the concept, the fundamentals and simply what abiding in Christ entails. I briefly explained the need for Christians to trust in Him and how to abide in Christ.

Today, we'll be looking at the results of abiding in Christ. By that I mean, the benefits of abiding in Christ.

I presume you didn't know there are benefits of abiding in Christ, but there are!

Wonderful, wonderful benefits.

If you know God, you know He doesn't tell us to do something without it  being beneficial to us, either by edifying our spiritual man or strengthening our walk with Him(physical and spiritual benefits altogether).

However, Jesus doesn't tell us to remain in Him just because it's pleasing to Him but also helps to edify our spirit man and encourages our journey with and in Him.

How?

That's what we'll be discussing today, but first if you aren't subscribed to this blog yet, go to the homepage and pls do that🙂We post regular faith-based messages, devotionals, bible study tips and sermons specials, Q&A's on Saturdays and Christian-living tips, you wouldn't want to miss and update.

Let's get into it:

BENEFIT ONE: SPIRITUAL FAITHFULNESS

John 15:5

[5]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

What exactly is spiritual faithfulness?

I can't answer this without defining faithfulness.  According to Wikipedia, Faithfulness is the concept of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or something, and putting that loyalty into consistent practice regardless of extenuating circumstances. Spiritual faithfulness(in a biblical context) can be said to imply being unfailingly committed, loyal, and obedient to God.

When a Christian is spiritually faithful, God's will is always his/her desire for his/her life. As God's will for a Christian's life is always the best and if that Christian submits fully into God's hands and doing, together, they will bear fruit (v.5). It may be fruit of security, good works, saved souls, or whatever the Lord says it is.

Without God one can do nothing

With God, we can do all things

Always abiding in Christ not only offers you a possibility of being the closest to God's heart but also the reality of both God and you being like two spiritually  connected minds to make His will possible for your life, resulting in greater exploits for His kingdom and of course your inevitable salvation.

BENEFIT TWO: ANSWERED PRAYERS

John 15:7

[7]If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

I can't possibly talk about the results of abiding in Christ and not mention the most sought after desire of not just Christians but savior-seeking unbelievers.......answered prayers.

Everyone on this earth undoubtedly would want a chance to get to ask God for a wish or just for all of one's general prayers to be answered but unfortunately, not all of these are possible, well for those who don't believe in God. As there are some reasons for unanswered prayers, there are also reasons for frequently answered prayers, the secret of those people who were/are so close to God and one of these is abiding in CHRIST.

If you fully have faith in Christ, no matter the circumstance you find yourself in or the season you may be passing through, God will not turn His back on you. His ears are fully open and He hears all put prayers, mostly of those who remain and trust in Him at their lowest points. If you ask and have complete trust in God to answer you, He will.

Remember, don't just be asking Him when you feel helpless or during terrible times........ even when the times seem to be unbearable or unreal and even abnormally difficult, still abide.

Pray to Him and He will answer you. If you are constantly faithful to Him, He says whatever you ask Him(according to His will), He will grant it into you.

BENEFIT THREE: PEACE IN THE STORM

John 16:33

[33]These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

It is in only God man can experience true peace. In Him, there is peace. All these things that happen in the world and the extent to which this earth gets more sinful and harder for saints to Stan in Christ, God still offers us a place where we can be calm and acknowledge His existence. The dwelling place for all who trust in Him, the only source of overflowing, neverending pure peace........in Christ.

Why do you think anytime you do yoga, meditation classes, take sedatives or calming drugs and any relief-giving activity/substance, you end up feeling empty afterwards?

At the moment, there is a false illusion of peace and relief the devil concocts in your mins, making you think...... oh! all is ok now.......but shortly after, it's all gone!

Why?

Because nothing and no one in this world gives peace freely else from our Lord. A peace which is irrevocable and calming. That peace is only found in, with, through and in God, the Most High.

Those who have the Holy Spirit are always seeming to be peaceful and stress-free. This is because they know and have Christ in their lives.

When you trust God unconditionally and abide in His every word, instructions and His love, that peace comes almost effortlessly and you'll gradually start acknowledging the presence of God in your life.

Let no man decieve you that you can recieve peace from partaking in occultic, fetish and “universal" rituals and sessions....those are all devilish and the devil is not a spirit of peace but of death, pride and fear. Only the Lord God is the one who gives peace freely. His love is unconditional and those who trust in him are glad in His love daily, dwelling in His peace.

BENEFIT FOUR: NEW LIFE

2 Corinthians 5:17

[17]Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When one becomes born-again, he automatically and literally becomes “born-again".

Ok, what do I mean?

When you denounce the devil, the world and all things related to it, you're stripped from your flesh (the dominating part of your being), then you confess your sins and ask God to wash you clean of your sins and forgive you(you are then stripped of tainted garment your spirit man had on), the asking God to come into your life, for the Holy Spirit's anointing and accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior (you are then reclothed by a pure white garment signifying your redemptive truth/state).

This entire process I like to refer to as the redemption/born-again process.

This is actually what happens when you become born-again, indicating that you're actually a new man now. A new man with a new life.

Your old ways have been washed awyd by Jesus' blood, forgotten and forgiven by God's mercy and your new life and journey with God has begun. Now that you're in Christ, you have a new way of living your life and new aspect of God and this world. All these goes to show you how being in Christ results to having a new and refined life. A life which is only desires to serve and please God.

If you are just recently accepted Christ as your Lord, and don't know what's next, this post will be helpful.

BENEFIT FIVE: ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Philippians 3:9

[9]And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

.....Which is through the faith of Christ......

Abiding in Christ. No one is righteous before God except Christ. He is our role model and our savior. It's because of His victory in conquering sin and self that He us now the only one deserving to be our mediator, our advocate. By faith in Him, we are justified and experience righteousness in God. By faith......in Christ alone.

Not by the rules and regulations of your school or the laws in the constitution but by faith alone, we see true righteousness of God and can also be of that righteousness through and in Christ. God is the one who will view our ‘righteousness' by faith in Christ.

Our petty good works doesn't play a huge role in making God deem us as “holy than thou" but it is only by faith in Christ that we can see the righteousness of God. He also comes to knowledge of your reverence to Him.

Nonetheless, we should always work hard to keep our garments clean and spotless before the Lamb. Endeavouring to be holy already makes us to be deemed as faithful servants to God.

The bottom line: When one is faithful and ever-trusting in Christ, benefits follow and these are all things to help to edify you for your journey with Him. Things may be hard and rough, but still abide in Christ because He sees, hears and knows all that we go through and ask of Him. If you are a true, servant of Christ constantly thanks God for everything, trusts in Him and never questions Him, you will spiritually grow more faithful, your prayers will be answered, you will always have peace in your heart, you will be reborn everyday in Christ and the Lord will gift you with the robe of righteousness. I sincerely hope and pray the Lord lays the Spirit of faithfulness and obedience in your heart in Jesus name. AMEN.

We know sin is one of the enemies of Christians but we don't actually know where sin comes from. Well, these three sources of sin will shock you!

THE 3 MAJOR SOURCES OF SIN

The number one enemy of a saint--------SIN

Sin, sin, sin-----------also one of the word God hates.

Throughout the span of time and modernization of generations, sin has taken new forms and wats to creep into the believers' life, without even a hint of warning. We all know the origin of sin as being from the garden of Eden, and we know the entire story of the fall of mankind, and why all humans now are born with a sinful nature and desire. Even through the Bible, it's like new sins take forms and are given names based on how it manifests in a person's life: lies, stealing, pride, hatred, backbiting and so much more.

Sin is said to be sin because of its unnatural nature and abnormality which has negative effects on man spiritually and physically. I won't go too deep in that topic, buy if you'd like to a post on an exclusive in-depth study of sin, comment below.

As we are nearing the second coming of Christ, the devil is also getting anxious because he knows his time is running out, and so he is looking for any way to trap the saints of God. That's why he polishes and disguises sin in so many ways, that it may even seen innocent when it's actually not.

Today, we'll be looking at 3 major sources of sin, that has been evident even since the beginning of time till now, and our main text will be the book of 1 Corinthians 3:3.

Got your bibles out?

Alright then......You will not imagine this is where sin comes from....

SOURCE ONE: THOUGHTS

1 Corinthians 3:3
[3]For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Mark 7:21
[21]For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Our thoughts are our mental, spiritual and emotional warehouse and movie theatre.

All the baggage we reflect outwardly or percept and store in our brains is recreated in and as our thoughts. Evil thoughts can include imaginations, evil surmising, devising, lustful thoughts, desires, luscious thoughts and any mind activity not brought to the obedience of Christ. So you can see this is a medium through which the enemy can enter and use to pull you away from God and His mercy.

But you're wondering, how can I possibly control my thoughts? No Man can.

Yes, that is correct but the Lord has taught us how to make our thoughts undesirable and untouchable for the enemy. How? By filling up your thoughts with Christ and God the Father, hymns and songs of worship and bible verses.

When your mind is constantly on the world, the enemy rules your thoughts life, but when your mind is always on God then the enemy will have no room there.

Remember, other sinful activities results from just an evil thoughts, so keep your mind off the world and put it on God.

 SOURCE TWO: WORDS

1 Corinthians 3:3
[3]For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Proverbs 15:1
[1]A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The words that come out of your mouth are so impactful in the spiritual realm, brethren. This is why God tells us to bridle our mouths and refrain our tongues from speaking evil (1 Pet 3:10).

What we speak out loud should not just be humorous in nature, a mere joke, you don't know which demon is around you that can hold your words against you in heaven to God. Our words sprout out sin if not controlled.
Initially we can speak sinful and tainted words either because of our emotions or situation, but if you don't quickly ask God for forgiveness not only with the devil use those words against you in heaven but it will also attract more evil spirits that weren't there before to have access into your life. Just because of your words!

Isn't that where lies come from? Blasphemy complaints and cuss? they are all demon-oriented and influenced spirits that find a way into one's life and when it sees we're vulnerable, it attacks! The results? You know what sin does to man.

Psalm 19:14 should be our go to prayer when we feel something urging us to put those doubtful thoughts into words. Repeat it every day and night out loud in your heart until your mouth is only full of honey.

SOURCE THREE: DEEDS

1 Corinthians 3:3
[3]For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Your deeds are your actions. What you do has reasons and outcomes. If the reason of an action you do is bad then do you expect the outcome to be good?

This is one of the most obvious ways Satan infiltrate our lives with sin but it is also the most looked over. The addition of evil thoughts+ evil words or just the results of each of them respectively is possibly evil deeds. This is how the devil operates. He can influence a believer of Christ even when he's doing good that it may actually result in evil.

I know you're getting confused so please calm down and let me explain.

The reason why I said this is mostly looked over by majority of Christians, as a source of sin, is because everyone knows;

 good deeds=good results/benefits while
 bad deeds=bad results/consequences

...... but that's not actually the case most of the time. If you have that mindset, you are an easy prey for the devil to use and do evil.(see what I did there?)

Let me give an example: There was a day I was done buying all my food stuffs in the local market and I was walking home. I normally give beggars money, out of a good heart, but as I saw a particular male beggar( he did look like a ‘sincere' beggar) something in me held me back from giving him money. I was trying  to fight it off thinking it was the devil, but it was actually the Holy Spirit. As I was about to bring out little change from my purse, it came again and then I just walked past the beggar.
I didn't feel guilty about that incident but the Lord never still told me why he instructed me not to give him. He did explain to me about this point I'm elaborating on but He never revealed to me the significance of that incident. My speculations were all over the place; I thought he was a fraud or ritualist or just evil but the Lord never confirmed any of this.

I digress, but the truth of the whole matter is the devil is so wicked that he can use even a good deed from the sincerest motive as a weapon for evil and against you.

The bottom line:

Thank you for making it to this section. I hope you learnt about the three major ways through which sin can sneak into one's life. Our thoughts are meant to be kept free from evil at all times unless the devil will play with it. What comes out of our mouths are meant to be only pleasant and glorifying to God. Do not let emotions or whatever the case may be push you to pronounce judgement upon yourself. Lastly, your works are all meant to be inspired by the Holy Spirit alone and not conscience. A conscience deed can be turned into a terrible seed. Control your actions and be not quick to do.... do.... do.... think, ask God, then do. I pray the spirit of the Lord sees you through every day. Shalom and stay safe.

ABIDING IN CHRIST: A GLIMPSE

Hello brethren!

PREAMBLE

Hope y'all are coping with this lockdown and still finding comfort in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

It's not a surprise if most Christians lose faith during this turbulent times or are shook in their trust in God the Father. With the severity of this lockdown order issued months back, and it's gradual relief now, at least in Nigeria, there hasn't only been economic, political and social standstills, but also a spiritual one- for believers. The fellowship of the saints(going to church) which God tells us not to forsake in His word is one of the cordial aspects of a Christian's life affected gravely upon the outbreak it this pandemic.

Most Christians have lost faith, hope, have given up on Jesus, underestimated God's power and strength, wondered if God is still working or just sitting there, doing nothing. It's not the fault of humans to respond to this situation with immediate doubs and insecurities of God's say in all this, as it's human nature. We judge by what we see and not we can't see(what truly is). God says if you truly are of Him, you should think like Him; believing in what is not there rather than what is there.

It may look like God's just relaxing on His throne doing nothing but to speculate at His children who are worrying in anguish, but even if you believe or want to believe it, HE IS WORKING.

God works in mysterious ways.

It may seem as though He doesn't care about His children who are crying unto Him each day and night non-stop, but dear brethren, Our Father cares about every single droplet of tear and every single word we pray unto His ears.

God has already given us a solution---- rather a hope to stay faithful to Him during this terrible times. God has made it known to us, in His word, how to get through this kind of situation still obeying steadfastly and trusting completely in Him. He has shown us a soothing remedy to still hold on to our established faith in Him, keeping His will as our priority and blotting out any hint of doubt that wants to creep in.

And what's that remedy?

ABIDE

Abide in Him

Abide in Christ

Trusting solely in Him, casting all your cares aside and focus on the faith you have in Him, obeying Him without complaining, praising and worshipping Him giving thanks for all the wonderful things He has done, He is doing(even though it may seem otherwise) and He will do.

Why does God tell us to abide in Him?

Because He is the only one we can lean on now. Not your family, not your friends, not your neighbor, not your governor, not your president, not the health organizations and medical practitioners........ it's only HIM you can trust now.

He is the only one that can see you through all this.

He is the only one that can still keep you same when everything around seems insane.

He is the only one that helps you grow stronger in your faith in Him and rely on Him as your strength and support.

He is the one that knows what's best for you.

He is the only one you can count on now.

Why not trust Him with your life?

He loves you unconditionally to let you slip through His careful hands to the devil's clutches

How can we abide in Christ?

  1. Think like Him, Walk like Him

1 John 2:6
[6]He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

It says those that abide in Christ are meant to walk like Christ. This, meaning, Think like Christ,Walk like Christ.

I ask myself everyday (ever since this lockdown started that is)is this how Christ would react to this situation? Is this what He would do?

If you want to abide in Christ, you have to think like He does and do what He would do in particular situations. If you want to trust someone, wouldn't you know how the person behaves and how the person thinks and try to see if you think the same way?

It's the same thing with trusting God!

If you say you trust God, you would start acting more like Jesus would in any given situation. If you do that, you would have less problems worrying about unnecessary things, confiding in yourself and being self-conceited.

You want to abide in Christ and trust His every move; try thinking more like Him and be in consonance with His will. It won't be hard for your u to become His most faithful servant.

2. Study His word and obey it

2 John 1:9
[9]Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

God's word is truth.

God is the word.

He is truth.

Abide in Him, Abide in His word.

How can you trust in God, when you don't trust His word? The word is the basis of doctrines preached in christianity. We as Christians can't imagine what christianity would be like without the Bible! Not as much as now, being a Christian, we need the truth in out lives to sustain our faith.

2 Jn v.9 admonishes Christians on being faithful to the word of God to signify their relationship with Him. Simply, if you say you trust in God and don't do His will or live according to His word, you aren't His son, but if you do, you are truly His son.

You can't go around sinning and doing exactly what God has said is detestable in His sight yet call yourself His own. You'll just be deceiving yourself.

3. Continuous prayer

John 15:7
[7]If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Prayer is the master key!

If you want to abide in Christ, continuously pray to God. It is obvious that is one abides in Christ and His words, anything He asks shall be answered.
To will always trust God in every situation, you need prayers.

You need to constantly remind God that you're there, waiting for Him to manifest His will at any second.

You need to always fellowship with the Holy Spirit, even if you feel He's not there (Trust me, He is).

You need to plus out all your thoughts, actions and desires to Him so He can break you even more for His use.

You need to consult Him at the nose dreadful times, with the simplest faith you might have.

God says if you abide in Him and His words, He will surely answer your prayers.

The bottom line: These are testing times indeed; the time God wants to see who are truly His children and not just the “pleasant-phases only" Christian. He wants to see who will call out to Him in spirit and in truth, even though it seems He is not involved in any of this. He is searching for His own.

Are you a faithful servant of Christ?

Are you ready to abide in Christ during this period of time?

Are you HIS OWN?

Conclusion

Hey there!
I hope this post was inspiring and encouraging. God is doing things now that we can't possibly imagine; He's changing people's hearts and lives. People are realizing He's sovereign and almighty. Unbelievers are believing in His existence and power, why would you, a believer, then lose your faith at this critical point of your Christian race?

I have a short prayer for you to take home and please say this before you sleep:

O dear Lord, I am weak, I am powerless, I am but human. You remain faithful, when I am faithless. You keep your promises when I break the ones I pledge to you. God, I know these times are bad indeed. Many Christians are losing faith instead of holding unto it. They(myself included) don't see the marvelous things you're doing in secret and I'm sorry for not realizing this earlier in. God please forgive my ignorance. O dear Father, from this day one, put in my heart that fire, that faith and hope in your will and power. Give me the spirit to constantly abide and trust in you unconditionally. God please give me the spirit of hope and remaining as faithful as the day I first met you- knowing you have better plans for me in the future to come.
Thank you Father, for in Jesus name I pray.

Don't forget to follow me on my Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. I post faith-based content occasionally.

If you have any questions and anything you would like to knows, don't hesitate to send me a message.

Thanks for stopping by.

Above all, stay strong in faith and stay blessed, beloved brethren

Your body, my body, your friend’s body, and even your parents's bodies are the temple of God. Knowing and believing this, we shouldn’t make our body filthy and unfit for God to reside in.

And how can we do that?

By cleansing yourself from unclean things, practices, beliefs, and behaviours.

Some Christians complain and mutter about how they’ve been asking for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, yet no answer from God, no strange sensation or “butterflies in stomach” experience. Well, my friend, do you expect a landlord of a house to stay in the polluted house he trusted his tenant to guide and maintain? No(if I’m the one, the tenant would be kicked out of the house immediately sef). This is the same way God feels.
Remember, God says He doesn’t just release His Spirit to any temple, specially an unclean one; you have to try your best to cleanse yourself from evil, then when God sees your hardwork, He sends the Holy Spirit to help and guide you henceforth. I hope I clarified that?

Also, ‘self’ here isn’t your physical body that I can see, it’s your inner self- your spirit – that our Lord resides in.
That being said, these are the 7 things you need to start cleansing yourself from to be a worthy temple for the Holy Spirit to reside in, starting from TODAY:

1) AFFAIRS OF THIS LIFE

2 Timothy 2:4
“No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted”(ESV)

Drinking, clubbing, partying, wordly festivals and unclean gatherings, secular entertainment, pleasures of this world to name a few.

The affairs of this life, also known as the enemy’s way of enticing you to his dungeon to remain as his slave.

Don’t associate yourself with any vain thing, don’t think, dream or act on any of them. If you want to be fit to be the residing temple of God’s Spirit, you might as well start cutting off all these habits from your daily routine and start saying NO.

NO to late night clubbing
NO to midnight partying
NO to excessive drinking to “cool anxiety”
NO to unclean and occultic gatherings/meetings in the name of “cultural festivals”
NO to listening to secular music that damages and infects your soul little by little
NO to secular news and movies that penetrate your thoughts and divert then from God
NO TO THE PLEASURES OT THIS WORLD!

Purge yourself from all these vain things. START SAYING NO NOW.

Say NO to the devil
Say NO to sin

The scripture is the word of God

The word of God is God

God is truth

So we can say all in the scripture(plus the scripture itself) is TRUE......the truth.

But do you know there are important truths to take note of and to be put in your subconsciousness wherever you go?

These aren't just mere Bible takes of memory verses, but delicate truths to always remember (According to the book of Ecclesiastes 12).

Now, what are they? Let's see....

Truth One: The whole duty of man is to fear God (Eccl 12:13)

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man".

Now, if I may ask, what do you understand by ‘whole duty'?

Some of you may be thinking crucial responsibility, major obligation, or main cause-yes..all those are correct but fusing all these words together to make a word could not specify exactly the meaning of those two words in that verse.

It's not just a ‘duty', King Solomon specified it as the whole duty of man; meaning it's what we should live by, it's both an obligation and responsibility. We should not fear God just by out mouths but by our actions; not partly but WHOLEY. We should live and breathe by fearing God wholely.....not a terrifying or harmful fear, but a loving and fatherly fear.

SIDE NOTE

King Solomon also stated that the following words were the conclusion of the whole matter; the whole matter referring to the whole book of Ecclesiastes, indicating that the two last verses were the conclusion of the matter (remember: chapter 12 is the last chapter or the book of Ecclesiastes)makes it clearer that the words mentioned would be the most important truths in the entire Bible.

Also, Proverbs is the book of wisdom, advice, counselling, whatever you want to call it...so, it won't surprised us if there are hidden and important messages in it.

Truth Two: To keep His commandments

“.....and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man"(v.13)

Again, with the “whole duty" emphasis.

Keeping His commandments is as important as fearing God.

You have to both fear God and keep His commandments. You can't do one and leave the other out; it would be an imperfect/incomplete way of serving God(remember, if you love Him, keep His commandments..Jn 14:15).

Actually, if you look at this verse and understand it from a view, you would rather say fearing God and keeping His commandments is then considered the whole duty of men. Whole!

So, you might as well scratch what I elaborated earlier on😄

It's fearing God and obeying all His commandments that is considered whole, but you have to still fear God wholely.

What am I trying to say? The whole/perfect duty, obligation or responsibility of every human being in this world has to God is basically;

Fearing Him and Keeping His Commandments

Well, it's not that basic (it's really in-depth) but according to the topic under consideration, this is one of the most important truths in the Bible, that most be kept and observed by all men(believer/unbeliever).

Truth Three: To Prepare For Eternity, in view of the fact that every work of man will be brought into judgement, even every secret thing, whether it be good or bad(v. 14, Mt 16:27, 2 Cor 5:9-10, Rev 20:11-15)

“For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, whether it be evil"(v.14)

I think I can say this is the most important of all because it's even mentioned in the book of Revelations and other books in the scriptures.

This is not an obligation or a responsibility per say, but just a reminder of what is to be and will be. The Lord has been warning us throughout the scriptures to repent and come to Him, but also to put in remembrance the fact that every single feed you do, either good or bad, hidden or exposed, shall and will be judged.

HE HAS SAID IT AND IT WILL BE. No arguments whatsoever can change this from happening.

That's why He urges everyone under the sun to live a holy and righteous life; a life without sin, a life that is blameless before His sight, a life that the devil cannot accuse you shadily of or find fault in, a life of fearing and obeying God's Commandments, a life of total guidance and instructioning by the Holy Spirit, a life that will guarantee you a straight ticket to heaven even if you die this moment or rapture happens all of a sudden. This is the kind of life God wants each of His children to strive to live. it may be hard but it's worth it in the end.

Always keep in mind that one day all wicked and good will stand before the throne of God and will be judged, according to their works, or rather their works will be judged, either good or bad, even the secret ones. This is the most important truth of all in the Bible.

So, tell me, how do you want to be judged that day? As one with more/all good works than bad ones or one with more/all bad works than good ones?

Make your choice now!

The bottom line: The word of God is truth and there are hidden truths kept in the entire Scripture for those willing to seek God to uncover them. The three most important truths are the ones that stand out in the book of Ecclesiastes in the last chapter,12 and the last verses 13&14, where Solomon introduces them as the conclusion (summary) of the matter(the entire book of Proverbs). These are fearing God and obeying His commandments wholely and Keeping in mind that one day, our creator will judge all our works and deeds on earth.

Live a life that is worth going to heaven and continue doing good......a time is coming when you'll receive your reward.

Keep these three things in mind as they are the most important truths in the word of God.

You've been hearing this on your radio, seeing it on TV and evangelists preached this to you, but do you know it's not soon anymore... IT'S HERE.

If you don't believe Jesus is coming soon, read this

If you're a Christian, you would've heard of the second coming of Christ, but I purposely made this simply-formtted Q&A kind of post for unbelievers to be aware of the topic and to remind the body of Christ of this prophecy which is to be fulfilled soon.

I pray as you read this, the Holy Spirit softens your heart to see the truth of what is said in God's word to be in the world to come and have a change of heart to serve God. AMEN.

Now, without further ado, let's get into it:

QUESTION 1:What and when exactly is the second coming of Christ?

The second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is at the end of the world system; when the reign of the Anti-christ will come to an end.

QUESTION 2:Who is Christ coming with?

Christ is coming with the Holy Saints and with the Holy Angels to rule in the earth for one thousand years. Those that are worthy of Him, will rule with Him in Jerusalem.

QUESTION 3:Why is Christ coming again?

The purpose of His coming is to remove evil from the earth that has been polluted by the evil one and his evil spirits.

Initially, God had given the earth to man(Adam) to rule the earth, but the sin of disobedience Adam and Eve committed gave Satan the opportunity to steal the rulership of the earth from man. This happened in the garden of Eden.

Since then the world has faced a lot of pain, evil interventions to name a few.

That's why God has prepared a plan to restore the earth to the original way He wanted to be. God's initial plan for the earth is for people to live in peace and harmony; a world without evil. But when God's original plan was planned by Adam, God then sent His son(in the person of Jesus to come the first time as our Redeemer, so as to save those who will come to Him, through the Gospel).

    In John 3:16-20, Jesus says...

“That God is loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have  everlasting life, but He that does not behave in Him is already condemned”.

It was because man had failed God, that's why God sent His son to come the first time and the Redeemer of man, but the second time which is what we're discussing about, He is coming to rule the world in righteousness and equity (Ps 2).

QUESTION 4:What exactly is Christ coming to do?

Christ's coming is to judge the world of the evil been committed in it.

In the book of Rev 22:11-12, it says that Christ is coming to reward every man according to what he/she has done.

The bottom line: Remember that one day is coming when you will give account of whatever you did in your life.
So, try now to live a godly life, so that you can be with those that are with Christ, when He comes to take over the rulership of the world.

Not sure whether you're saved or not? Here's what you have to do

Conclusion

Thanks for reading this post. This was a different kind of post, in the sense that it's a Q$A post(inspired by my daughter 🙂). If you liked the format, please comment and let me know if you want me to do more posts like this.

I hope you gained something from it and are now aware of the urgency of Jesus coming.
I urge you to endeavor to live a life pleasing to God and abide in Christ everyday of your life, walking in the Spirit. Make sure you work hard to get a prefected spirit  than working to get a perfected body. Live a life, here on Earth, that will make your soul worthy to step foot into the kingdom of heaven and then the New Jerusalem. That should be part of your prayer points everyday.

What does it take to be saved, even after being born-again? Or is that all?

4 things to do after being born-again

Congratulations!

You have made the biggest decision of your life!

To follow Christ

To love Him with all your heart, might and soul

To serve and obey Him diligently

To surrender your life to Him

But, is that really all?

Some born-again Christians have the misconception that after they are born-again and surrender their lives to God, it automatically makes them saved. Although, this qualifies you for salvation but it doesn't affirm your actual going to heaven

Once you become born-again, you are given a chance, by the merciful Most High God to live a new and fulfilling life in Him, the Spirit which will later determine whether or not they are worthy  to inherit the kingdom of God.
You can't possibly expect all to be well and 'goody-goody' after you become a born-again, thinking that's the only requirement to be saved. God makes it clear in the book of James that “.... faith without work is dead..”; if you read through the book of James, you would see that Saint James admonishes Christians to both be active in spiritual works as they are in their spiritual faith.

I don't want to go deeper into that but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Basically;

 FAITH+NO WORKS=LESSER HOPE OF SALVATION
 FAITH+WORKS=GREATER HOPE OF SALVATION

Without wasting much more of your time, here are 4 things a new born-again must do to be assured of salvation.

ONE: Continue being willing to follow Jesus (Mk 8:34, Jn 7:17, Jn 12:26)

“.....if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” (Mk 8:34, NIV)

Salvation is not a one day thing!

You can't expect God to notice you if you go back and forth in your spiritual life. I personally think time plays a part in separating the fame-seeking believers from the God-seeking believers.

Christianity is not just a religion, it's a relationship. It is a true relationship we build with God. If you're a fame-seeking  or materialistic believer, you won't go far, because as you pass the ‘baby stage’ (most Christians sadly don't) and enter into the ‘maturing/youth stage’, the journey tends to get harder and harder and uncomfortable for your physical body (the flesh).

You can't decide to become a true Christian just because someone else you know is and is very successful in life or because there's a particular guy/girl you admire who attends church regularly and is a devoted Christian; if that's your reason or any other petty reason, you will not go far at all.

That is why our Lord is calling out to true people who want to seek His face not the faces and praises of people or the face of that beautiful girl/handsome guy. He is looking for those that would be willing to follow Him. To continue to follow Him no matter the rough sides and ups and downs, no matter the mockery and scorns from unbelievers geared towards your emotional feelings. He is out to capture the hearts of true seekers that will continue, day and night to be enthusiastic about building a relationship with Him.

Now, ask yourself. Am I ready to daily seek the face of the Lord and follow Him without questions?
(Leave your answers in the comments section below 🙂⬇️)

TWO: Deny himself daily; renounce all self-dependence , self-interest and self-pursuit which are contrary to God (Rom 6:16-23, Tom 8:1-13, Gala 5:19-24)

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.” (Gala 5:24)

As a Christian, your greatest enemy is your flesh(Gala 5:17).

We battle everyday with our flesh because it is in contrast with the Holy Spirit. The flesh wants us to yield to sin but the spirit wants us to dwell in righteousness.

For us to truly walk in the Spirit and have lesser probability to fall into sin and darkness, we need to completely detach ourselves from anything self-related. By self-related I mean; self-dependence, self-interest, self-deceit, self-despair, self-glory, selfishness, self-praise and self-pursuit....all those related to just yourself and not glorifying God.

For you to truly have constant hope of salvation, it is necessary to deny yourself everyday, say NO to your flesh and don't give in to it's temptations. If self-pride settles in, rebuke it in the name of Jesus and pray for the Spirit of meekness. If self-dependence starts to be the best option for you during a huge dilemma in your life, cast it out in the name of Jesus and pray for the spirit of total surrender and allegiance to God's will for your life.

Christianity is not about you, you and YOU.

NO.

Many Christians misunderstand this Biblical scripture that “since God loves only ME, you know He loves ME, I do this and that and I'M able to do......”.

NO.

You shouldn't say that; that's self-glory.

It's not about you spreading the word of God but God shining His light in and through you and using you to propagate the gospel of His kingdom. It's not about you being able to write a 3000+ words blogpost/article about His second coming but Him using you to reach out to the world so they can come to the knowledge of the truth of His word and always bear in mind the urgency of His coming.

So, quick tip- If you're a new born-again Christian, don't go around with the ideology that it's all about you and what you can do to “help” God on earth, whereas it's about God and how God can USE you to accomplish all what He has said on His word- to come to fulfilment.

If you truly want to be saved, remove ”self”(me, mine, my, I) from your prayers and from God's entire picture. Rather, say; “Let your will be done in my life in Jesus name.”

THREE: Take up the cross daily (Mk 8:34, Lk 9:23, Colo 1:23)

“Then he said to them all; if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me,” (Lk 9:23)

The cross here represents self-denial.

Just as I stated in the previous point, self-denial is key in one's spiritual walk with God. Jesus tels us to deny ourselves and take up His cross daily and follow Him. These are the two requirements if you want to truly follow God all the way; Deny yourself and take up His cross daily. The cross here also symbolises the shame and sufferings of Christ borne by Christians. Jesus tells us to take up cross daily; bear the pains and sufferings like He bore for you and all of mankind.

Also, you should be constantly reminded of what our Lord Jesus Christ passed through for the redemption of our sins. If you don't take note of this, you can easily be misled or go off track. No matter how painful or heartfelt it is to always remind yourself of what our Lord went through and dis for us to gain our hope of salvation, you really need to do it. It will always keep you on track and remember that the Lord has done so much for us because of God's love for you and I.

Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross of Calvary; even before that, He was mercilessly tortured, scorned at, shamed. He suffered such terrible pain yet, He never complained, not even once! If out Lord can do that much for us, what makes it so hard for you to bear the same for Him?
Isn't a little pain that wouldn't last for a minute worth a greater joy and happiness?

FOUR: Follow Christ daily; not for a while!(Jn 10:26-28)

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (Jn 10:27)

You've given your life to Christ and accepted Him as your Lord and Savior; then, you think that's that....“If I die tomorrow or even now, I'm sure I'll go to heaven, that's been done!”, you think.... Well, I'm sorry if you have that mindset, but the truth of the matter is that you just started, my friend!

Nothing has been “done” yet or settled. Well, yes, it's been settled that you're now for Christ but your hope of salvation has not yet be settled.

Why?

Because you just started, dear brethren and there is so much more ahead of you... this is simply the beginning of your Christian journey.

But how do I really know I'm saved? I can't answer that as straight-forward as possible but I'm sure you'll know if you are. This is why you just have to follow and seek Him daily. Not for a day or two or a week, but EVERYDAY.

You shouldn't get bored/tired of seeking Him because, trust me, God has a lot of unspeakable and unthinkable things to reveal to you and if you truly want to be saved, you should seek Him daily.

As Jesus says in John 10:27, He knows His sheep because they follow Him. His sheep hears His voice and follow Him daily. They obey Him without complaints, seek Him without getting bored, pray to Him without ceasing, worship Him without snoozing and walk in the spirit without saying No.

Are You Christ's Sheep?

The bottom line: Stay away from anything self-related and die daily to your flesh. Never get tired of serving and seeking God; one day, He will manifest himself to you in an unforgettable way.

Even if you're a born-again Christian or a long-term Christian, and you have the misconception that seeking and following God for a while then backsliding then come back to Christ then backsliding- the cycle repeating itself- excludes you from God's wrath because if His mercy and grace, you are wrong! God says seek Him daily, follow Him daily, bury your fleshly desires daily and pick up your cross daily to follow Jesus.

If you can do all these things, you have a sure hope of gaining eternal salvation.

I really hope that you've learnt a few things from this to implement in your lifestyle and keep in your heart everyday. I'm certain you can achieve all these things and integrate them in your life, so as to grow your relationship with God to greater heights. Here's a short prayer to take home;

“O Dear Lord, please give me the spirit of self-crucifixion and self-denial, so I can deny my flesh of all its desires and vanity, pick up my cross to follow Jesus even with the pains and tribulations I'll pass through; pour the zeal in my heart to daily seek your face and follow Christ all of my life as steadfastly and obediently as possible in Jesus name.

What is hell?

Hell is the future destination of the wicked.

Daniel 12:2

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the Earth(die) shall awake, some to everlasting life(heaven) and some to shame and everlasting suffering (hell)”.

Today, we'll be focusing on the second option... which is hell.

1.   When one lives a life of self pleasure and refuses to obey the commands given to him by His creator; and lives a life based on his self/fleshy-driven pleasures, his end is guaranteed to be shameful, regretful and horrid.

2.   According to privileged servants of the Lord who are taken to hell by Jesus Christ, they testify of how many people there cry about the fact of them missing the opportunity to give their life to Christ when they were still on earth.

In the end, they find themselves in hell, constantly regretting their actions on earth. The worst fact is that there are still so many individuals nowadays who go about believing that there is no such place as hell! They only believe in what they can see, so, as hell is in the spiritual realm, they decide not to believe in it's existence.

When one preaches to them, they merely disregard the teachings, sometimes make mockery of evangelists; some even go as far as to hurt or assault the preacher.

3.  Also, from the beginning of time, God has been calling people through His mediums lol Ike prophets, evangelists, pastors to name a few, telling unbelievers to repent or face the consequences of their wrongdoings at the end of their life/time (when they die).

4.  Like the sermon Jesus preaches concerning the rich man and Lazarus in the book Luke 16:19-31: Christ taught us about what will happen if one does in sin, and doesn't confess of his sins and repent of them. Many people are able to confess their sins, but are unable to forsake it; so, they live a life of an unrepentant sinner. Because of this, one needs spiritual help from a good man or woman of God, to help him and to counsel him on how he can able to overcome his spiritual weakness.

The solutions are through prayers, reading and knowing the word of God, meditating and practising the word of God, self control, abstaining from the things that always make you to stumble and most importantly, seeking help from the Holy Spirit.

 5.  In Matthew 25:41....

“Then shall he say also into them on the left hand, depart from me, ye cursed into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”

According to this verse, hell was meant for the devil and his angels. It was when they had sinned from the very beginning before Adam and Eve were created. But when man also fell in the garden of Eden, through lust and greed, the sinner became a partner with the devil and his angels.

Hell was created for those who rebel against the will and commandments of God.

6.    John 3:36......

“He that believe in the Son have everlasting life and he that believe not on the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abide on him”.

If you didn't know, the wrath of God is also hell fire. Those that think they are enjoying now, in the world, without having a relationship with Christ will have themselves to blame in the end of their lives.

The bottom line: The only thing that can save ones from hell is Christ in you, your hope of glory. May the spirit of God help you to realise the need to have Christ now in your life before it's too late.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading this post. I hope you've learnt something from this short message to keep in mind. You should know that hell is a really terrible place; it's not the one in movies or cartoons. Hell is as real as heaven is, but it's not worth going to, brethren. Please, you have to work hard, work hard in building your home in heaven and not building your game on earth. It's really not worth it; it really isn't.

Anyways, I pray the Lord guards you and encourages you in your spiritual walk with Him and if you're yet to come of realization of the truth of His word, I pray He manifests himself unto you.

Share this to everyone you know, please, I urge you to do so! We are in the end times and Jesus' return draws near. Leave a question if you don't understand anything relating to this topic and I'll be sure to answer quickly. Follow this blog for more messages like this.
Thanks once again for reading and have a fruitful day!

What is heaven?

Heaven is the final dwelling place of the saints after physical death on earth.

    In John 14:2, Jesus says.......

“In my Father's house, there are mansions; I go to prepare a place for you...”

If you can remember, Jesus also promised the thief at the cross, paradise, because the thief pleaded for mercy from Jesus at the cross.

Luke 23:43....“Today shall thou be with me in paradise”

So, heaven is the place where God, Jesus Christ, the Holy angels and the redeemed saints dwell.

Here are 9 Biblical Facts the Lord revealed to me about heaven:

FACT 1: In Matthew 6:20, Christ advises and admonishes us to lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, where thieves do not break through not still; Heaven is the safest place to store up treasures without fear of them being stealing or corrupted.

FACT 2: Revelation 21 and 22 tells about the beauty of heaven, and how the evil ones; like murderers, whoremongers and sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, will not partake in the beauty of heaven.

FACT 3: In 2 Corinthians 5:1, Paul teaches us that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved (means if we die in the physical form), we have a building of God, an house not made with hands and eternal in the heavens. If we die in the physical, our souls and spirits are alive in the heavenly realm with Christ, in paradise. But to receive such blessing, one must give his life to Christ and live according to the commands Jesus gave us through His disciples (Mt 28:19-20).

 FACT 4: In Luke 20:35-36, Jesus admonishes us that in the world to come, we will be like the angels;

“....but they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead(rapture) neither marry not are given in marriage, neither can they die anymore, for they are equal into the angels”.

FACT 5: Revelation 7:13-17 explains that the great multitude from the great tribulation were taken to heaven after they have been killed by the Antichrist, because they held on to their testimonies and refused to accept the mark of worship of the beast by the Antichrist.

Furthermore, the moment they were killed, their souls went straight up to paradise to receive their rewards (which is to be with Christ).

FACT 6: 1 Corinthians 15:26,54- In heaven, there is no death or sorrow, death only reigned on earth because of sin and iniquity. But when dies here, even as a righteous man, he will be saved in heaven where there is no death or weeping.

Does a righteous man die because of sin or because he is wicked? Neither!
Also, a righteous man must die in the physical; it's appointed into men once to die (Heb 9:27)

WHY?

Because God has declared that man must return to dust (Gen 3:19).

This is why even a good man must pay the death price, so as to fulfil the command God has given. This is also why Jesus Christ came to save us from the spiritual death (hell), but all, whether good or bad, must pass through the physical death.

However, in heaven, there is nothing like death.  For, there, is the place the Father dwells. It is holy and pure ;that is why there is no death there.

Note: The only thing that made death to reign in the physical was SIN. Sin is the promoter of death here .

FACT 7: In Mt 13:43, Jesus preaches about the saints shining forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father,“.....the saints will shine like the sun in heaven”. Just like in the mountain of transfiguration, when Jesus appeared in His glory in the presence of His disciples; Moses and Elijah also appeared with Him.

When the disciples saw them, they were afraid because Moses and Elijah were like angels in heaven.

This shows that those who will make heaven will shine like the sun in heaven.

 Isn't that wonderful?!

(Comment down below if you think it's awesome!)

FACT 8: In the book of Romans 8:17, Paul teaches us the importance of being children of God. He says that if we suffer with Christ, we will be or made glorified with Him.

FACT 9: Also, Philippians 3:21, tells us that Christ will change our vile body and fashion it like His glorious body Remember, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

  And that's all!

Heaven is where righteousness and purity dwells. For one to be a candidate of heaven, one must be holy, righteous, pure and above all, have the love and mercy of God.

Conclusion

Thank you so much for reading this short message on heaven. I hope you learnt one or two things from it and you take home some points. Believe me, heaven is truly worth going to. It's indescribable and even writing a 10,000 words essay on it would not adequately explain its beauty and awesomeness. You'll just have to work hard to get there! (As I am too) . I'll be looking forward to seeing you there!

Be sure to leave any question, or anything you don't understand about or besides this topic in the comments section below; I'll be sure to answer right away!Share this message to as many as you can, you don't know whose heart this would touch. Subscribe to this blog for more messages like this as I post regularly, by the Lord's willing and grace.

 Here's just a prayer to take home;

O Lord, please make me a perfected spirit on this earth, so I can be worthy to step foot in your glorious kingdom and dwell eternally with you,my  Heavenly Father, my Lord Jesus Christ, and the comforting Holy Spirit in Jesus name. AMEN.

Thanks again for reading and have a wonderful day.
