So many unbelievers and so-called Christians have the earnest urge to seek the Lord, to want to know him more personally....... but they don't seem to know how.

I have come across so many young teenagers and struggling adults that really want to know who is Almighty and all-knowing God is that we serve but they also don't know the approach to come from or just how- exactly- to find Him.

In the book of Proverbs 8:17, God says he loves those that love Him and those that seek Him early shall find Him. Many people have seen and read the scripture a lot and still not get the full picture and idea it's telling us. Although, this verse simply means-seek God and you shall find and be loved by Him but it's more deeper than that. Seeking God is one thing, dwelling in Him is an entirely different thing.

Those that seek God early in life and continually dwell in him, shall by no doubt find him and experience his love and grace in their lives.

Now that's cleared up..... the next question is HOW?! Where do I start from? Who should I meet? Where do I begin?!....... I want you to take a deep breath now and just relax because you have clicked the right ticket to a full movie of “Seeking the Lord”. No.. there wouldn't be a video clip....but I  hope you understand what I mean.

Well, without further adieu... here are seven major ways and things you can do to seek the lord...but firstly, don't forget to follow EunyandGod for more faith-based messages and Christian- living tips; join the family of God, spread the word to friends and family and most importantly stay blessed. Let's get into it:

1. Seek God with all your heart (Deuteronomy 4:29)

But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul”.

Do you really want to see God? Do you want to experience a divine visitation from the Lord? Do you want to establish a personal and intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit? Or do you just want to have that ‘feeling’ because all of your Christian friends have been talking about their spiritual experiences?

These are the questions you are meant to ask yourself. If you think seeking God is hard, it means you don't really want to know Him because you want to; you want to know Him because John and Mary do.

God says seek Him with all your heart and with all that they soul, not with all your mind and perception. He knows the mind decieves because it's linked to the flesh.....that's why you should be sure IN YOUR HEART  that you really want to know Him.

If you seek Him earnestly with all your heart, you shall find Him.

 2.Seek Him continually (1st Chronicles 16:11)

Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually”.

You say you want to know God personally yet you only read your Bible once a week and go to church twice in three months..... are you really seeking Him?!

I ask you this question...if you want to pass a certain test that will determine your promotion to the next class, won't you study all the time and attend classes regularly? Why don't you do the same in seeking God?!

God is the teacher that will determine your ticket to eternal life in Paradise, so why not be serious about seeking His name?

If you really want to know God personally, you are to seek Him everyday! Read your Bible daily, pray on a regular basis or even multiple times a day, attend a fellowship gathering or church often and meditate on His word. This is how you build a relationship with God and dwell in Him.

3. Seek Him by humbling yourself (2nd Chronicles 7:14)

“If my people which are called by my name, shall humbling themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.

The relationship between God and man in simple; He, the master and man, the servant. It cannot be altered. If you want to seek the Lord, you need to humble yourself-well. As you are the one coming to seek Him, you are to humble to be humble and meek before Him.

You don't expect God to even mind you if you sit down to pray, stretch your legs and say.. “God, I'm not a sinner. I fast and pray and go to church and do all these things, so just answer me, alright?! God would just laugh at you and shake his head because ...“the proud will not inherit the kingdom of heaven”. “God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble”. (1st Peter 5:5).

In the Bible, God tells us to humble ourselves before Him and He shall lift us up (James 4:10). When you seek God with meekness of heart, He will hear your voice and answer new.

God is the Lord of my life and I'm His humble servant, who is God to you and you to Him?

4. Seek Him through prayers (Matthew 21:22)

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive".

         Prayer is the master key!

Not only in terms of trouble or breakthrough; even in seeking the Lord it is the key! When you pray to the lord and ask for a divine visitation and a spiritual encounter with the Holy Spirit, believing with all your heart, HE WILL ANSWER!

Also you should know God knows all hearts; if you ask in doubt and unseriousness, He will not hear you out but if you ask in faith and truth- He answer you.

Prayer is the best way of getting closer to God as it is time of being alone with God- Experiencing The Secret Place.

5. Seek Him by turning from sin 2 Chronicles 6:26)

When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them....."

How can you say you want to serve god yet you're binge-watching a series when you are meant to be fellowshipping with Him? How can you say you want to have the Holy Spirit in you when your mouth is full of curses and swear words? If you think you are fooling God, you are fooling yourself!

If you want to devotedly seek the Lord, with all your heart and soul, forsaking the things of this world, you need to turn away from your wrongdoings. You need to stop your sinful ways because you have decided to enter a divine relationship that will last forever.

This is not a mere friendship that you can just break by gossiping about that so-called friend of yours.....He is God and being his friend and servant, you need to stop messing up, repeating the same mistakes and GET SERIOUS.

You should seek His face with benevolence and truthfully...  if you are not true to yourself, can you be true to the creator of the universe?

6. Seek Him by preparing your heart (II Chronicles 19:3)

“Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God”.

Are you ready? Are you ready to take the step of faith? Are you ready to experience the presence of God on earth with you? Are you ready to see wonderful things you have not even imagined you could see? Are you ready to walk steadfastly in Him? Are you ready to forsake these worldly pleasures for a greater reward? Are you ready to endure to the end in grace and faith of the Lord?

This is the biggest decision of your life, brethren and you should be ready for what happens next. The Christian race is not a preschooler game but a journey of faith, obedience and long-suffering. You should think about all this before you decide to seek God. Don't get me wrong.... I'm not trying to scare you or such .... I'm just explaining the truth as it is.

This walk with God is a journey and a hard one at that because(of the intervening of Satan) but also the Lord will always comfort us on the way.

You just need to be prepared for what happens and put it in your mind that this is a journey and not a road trip.

And finally.......

7. Seek God and serve Him diligently (Hebrew 11:6)

“ But without faith it impossible to please Him; for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”.

I really like this particular verse because it's just filled with the words of God. From faith to believe and reward of diligence. Firstly, it explains that without faith you cannot please God. If you don't have faith in God you wouldn't feel the need to please Him.

Secondly, it says that if one wants to see God he should first believe that there truly is a God. Last but not the least, it admonishes the fact that God rewards those that seek Him diligently.

I'm only going to elaborate the diligence aspect... Diligence, according to Oxford learner's dictionary means careful and thorough work of effort. Diligence in this context means seeking on the Lord with all your might and cautiously calling out to him every day.

Not once, not twice but all the time, putting all your effort in wanting to know him and being ambitious about knowing him.

Are you diligent enough to call upon his name earnestly?

This is all I have for you my brethren. Seeking the Lord is a continuous effort and you need to endeavour to get to really know him. By faith, you seek him and by his mercy, He shall answer you.

Conclusion

Thanks once again for reading this post. I hope you were greatly inspired by this to keep on pushing and striving to get to that point of perfect consonance with God. It takes time, effort and perseverance. If you seek by faith, believe He's the one and true God and turn from your former sinful ways, He will answer you. If you decide to get serious with God, He will get serious with you.

I pray the Lord fills the hunger and fire in your heart to devotedly search for Him and he magnificently reveals Himself to you in a miraculous way, as He will perform His wonders through you in the wonderful name of Jesus.

                                                                                                                                 AMEN

Stay blessed beloved brethren.
